Does Motivation Come Before Action?

Do you ever have those days when you just don’t FEEL like doing things? You know you should, but somehow even the smallest task that you know you HAVE to do seems too big to get done. I had one of those kinds of weeks. Most of the things I know I should do seemed to get stuck between the “should do” phase and the “doing” phase. Then I remembered that action often precedes motivation. Whether it is exercise, doing sales calls for your business or making plans with friends. When you do not even feel like getting out of bed, you need to take that first step. So this week I decided I was going to up that word count and get some nasty admin things out to the way. I felt like Lady Christine; she had been hiding away from fighting King Radolf. It was far too cosy forgetting about the trauma of her past with King Radolf and hiding away in Lord Logan’s territory. But on the other side of action comes the life that we are hoping to create. I hope you find a way to win this week and that you have chosen a few warriors to help you train for the way forward. What am I writing Now Extract From Book 3 – Th Call of the Ancients “Blacksmith… Yakhal, I think she wants a blacksmith. There is a man that the Whisperer goes to sometimes, but I always drop him off a short distance from the village and he walks the rest of the way. The village has a retired Dragonslayer, but he yearns for a kill. He wears a cloak made from the underbelly of the last dragon he killed and a pendant carved from a dragon tooth. It would be too dangerous for us to go.” “I could do it.” Yakhal fluttered with excitement. “What! No, Yakhal, your mother would feed me to the Dragonslayer if I allowed that.” “She would not need to know. I am old enough to cloak my mind from her. I have been able to cloak for several weeks now. And I could get into the village without anyone knowing I am there. I am smaller than you, so I wouldn’t disturb any of the surrounding trees.”
